Wind powered aerodynamo eyed for farm electricity
The British Minister of Agriculture backs a fourteen horsepower wind powered aerodynamo devised by German Major Bielau. Tested near Berlin, it will undergo further trials at Oxford with British experts. The device uses a thirty foot mast, a drop shaped hood with an electric generator, wind catching sails, automatic wind breaks, and an internal fin system to curb blade speed. If economical, it could aid farms lacking hydro power, supplementing Ontario rural lines and offering an alternative during windless periods. Canadian authorities should monitor Oxford experiments.
