Council Reconsiders Tax Sales And Donates Christmas Cheer Funds

At the Dec 13 council meeting RM of Hillsburg discusses tax sale processes charity support. Officials explain that the municipality only “buys” properties and owners retain rights to redeem within a year. The council votes to donate 200 to Roblin Firefighter's Christmas Cheer Fund and tables party plans.

Youth fined for minor possession in Roblin court

A youth pled not guilty but was found guilty of minor possession after RCMP searched a car during a Hillsburg patrol and found one beer bottle. The driver claimed no knowledge of the bottle and received a 75 dollar fine plus 24 dollars in costs from Judge Ken Peters.

RM seeks meeting on road transfers with Highways Council

Shell River council remains unhappy with the Department of Highways decision to transfer provincial roads back to the RM. It aims to meet officials to discuss the plan and potential exchanges including PR 666 for a road into Pyott's Campground. Transfer of PR 483 PR 484 and PR 592 set for the new year.
