A district holiday gathering saw many local youths and families from Winnipeg, Shoal Lake, Brandon and Roblin join in a December afternoon concert. Attendees included Joan Van Drecht Bield Audrey Mel fort Basilyn Shoal Lake and others. The event featured songs recitations duets and gifts for children with E Mclintyre presiding as chairman.

Visitors from outside districts spent Christmas with local families in Deepdale. Among them were Miss Ethel Sher son of Grandview at Livingstone Homes, Miss Rose Luchak of Winnipeg, Miss Judy Ward at parental homes, and several Ward family members from Portage la Prairie and San Clara. The Deepdale United Church hosted a Sunday School Christmas Tree concert on Friday.

Cranwell Couple Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs William Cranwell celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. Born in England and Ontario respectively, they moved across Canada before settling in Roblin Manitoba. They raised three children, two sons Henry and Arthur, a daughter Gertrude, and have many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Active residents, they still cut fuel and maintain their home with patchwork quilting, rug making, gardening, and stitching.
