Goose Lake School Dist No 1283 finances up to July 10 1918 audited. Mrs Carlson taken to Winnipeg for a critical operation. Auction sale of horses and cattle at W D Gamey farm on Sat Dec 21. everything sold without reserve. Invest in thrift stamps. interest good, five years yields four dollars to five. Advertisers urged to submit news by Tuesday morning due to Christmas. Roblin home paper for district readers. Miss M Vinnell left for Russell. Mr F Simpson of Dauphin to be in Roblin on Sat Dec 21. At the Parsonage Dec 18, Mr D Monron and Miss BE Trickatt wed by Rev J Archibald. F Faulkner of Shortdale among Halifax Olympic returnees. School cleared of influenza and being cleaned. Empire Theatre to open Jan 1 with first program. Mr Simon wishes patrons a Merry Christmas.
