A new by law aims to regulate non certified solid fuel outdoor heating appliances requiring 25 foot setback from buildings and a 16 foot high professionally certified chimney effectively banning uncertified units. Council denies civic holiday for Dec 27 due to potential overtime costs and considers nuisance ground hours with public input.
The Deepdale Ladies Aid hosted their annual Christmas party on December eight with members spouses and guests including David Jones, Vera Davis, Ike and Muriel Beattie, Garth McKenzie who recently had elbow surgery and others. Absent members were remembered including Grace Ayer and Sherry Pearton while Heather Fisher presented the first minutes from 1921 to Bessie Charman.
A community club held its Thursday meeting at 7 30 p m at President Jeanette Boyce home with members Evelyn Addis Arlene Arnott Tammy Arnott Eve Baptiste Alma Bennett Margaret Boyce Shirley Grundy and Inge Kreutner. Executive posts include Jeanette Boyce president Irene Mitchell treasurer and Eve Baptiste secretary. Minutes treasurer’s report and correspondence were read. The group approved monetary gifts to the Makaroff Hall Committee the Christmas Supper project and Hospital Auxiliary. A January collection will fund Cindy Starchuk who wed Oct 28 1993. A Christmas party followed with beverages lunch and fellowship. Doris Ronellenfitch underwent treatment in Winnipeg on Dec 1. Betty and Mike Federiuk joined Beattie family and Doris on Dec 4.
