Roblin volunteer fire department boosts the Christmas Cheer Fund with Toys for Kids and a new food hamper drive. Dick and Bonnie Harvey coordinate efforts, building on four years of involvement sparked by Bruce Davis of the local Bumper to Bumper store.
Parkland Campus of Assiniboine Community College in Dauphin offers a six week computer course in Roblin starting early January. Four modules cover introduction to computers word processing spreadsheets and computer accounting with Word Perfect Lotus 1 2 3 and Bedford software. Tuition is 375 per module with 75 percent eligible under the Skill Investment Program and employer wage reimbursement up to 60 percent. Registration has a December 20 deadline and 16 computer stations are available.
Roblin plans a 30 bed personal care home expansion with a blended chapel area. A 200 square foot space will rise to a 12 foot cathedral style ceiling and be screened for chapel use when needed. Donations total 15000 toward a 20000 goal with 1000 from Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Rublin.
