District notes report club meetings, visits, and social events in the area. Mrs Bo Bai Treas Mrs martinson and family attended gatherings. Miss Emer son wedding at Robin home. residents traveled to Cromarty and Ottawa events. December meeting planned with officers listed.
Mr and Mrs Ken Boyce and three boys spent several days at the Pas visiting Mr and Mrs W P McGinnis. Mr and Mrs Orval Boyce visited the McGinnis family. Mrs Geo Beattie and Jack Pound attend the MLF U convention in Winnipeg. Mr and Mrs J A Beattie travel to Saskatoon for a nephew’s funeral. Harold Nabe is in hospital after a week there.
Bob Livingston, Bus Brook, and Mrs. Bugera attended the H Conference at Russell. Ed Friesen had a medical check up at Deer Lodge last week. Mrs. Bill Cranwell and Donna Louise Cranwell visited the Albert McFadyen home while convalescing from the flu. Albert McFadyen is having a medical check up at Deer Lodge this week.
The Turkey Bingo held in Togo last Wednesday evening, sponsored by The Togo Elks, drew a large crowd. Rae Traub returned home from six months in British Columbia, and Mr. L Veal of Bird, Manitoba, came back for the winter. Gratulations to Mr and Mrs Russell Mick on their Dec 5 wedding. The community offers sympathy to the Veal family. their mother died on Dec 2. Mr and Mrs R B S Topham left for Calgary for the winter. Mrs Herb Lee was surprised on her birthday with cards and lunch. Mr and Mrs E Propp and family of Runnymede visited Andrews.
Local J I Case dealer from Roblin Manitoba Mr Joan George Gardner is shown deplaning at Sky Harbor in Phoenix Arizona. Gardner attended the world premiere of the Case 1960 line of tractors and farm machinery as part of a nationwide civilian airlift involving over 10 million passenger miles with more than 3500 dealers present. They will tour Phoenix attractions during company meetings.
Mrs. L Gunness Jr comes back to Kamsack after a ten day visit with Mr and Mrs H Gunness. The Square Dance Club reports a very good turnout at their December 6 dance.
The Beaver Lumber Company in Roblin announces the transfer of the manager to Finn Flon and relinquishe s the position after six and a half years of service to Roblin and District. The notice expresses gratitude and offers best wishes to Mr. John Sawchuk of Crystal City for continued support.
The Tummel W A club held its November meeting at Mrs Mervyn Mickelson's home with fourteen ladies present. Mrs Leslar reported on the Rally in Grandview. Miss Muriel Robin chaired the officer election and 1957 officers will serve again in 1958. The roll call sparked a discussion of books and magazines. The December meeting will be a Christmas party at Mrs C O Robin's home on December 11 with a 50c gift exchange. A parcel will be packed for the Neepawa Senior Citizens home and several boxes of Christmas cards remain available.
The U C Y Club held a reorganization meeting at St Vladimir's College on December 4 with ten members present. New officers include President Mary Styba Vice-President Silvery Percha luk Secretary Mary Filewich Treasurer Florence Homennik and Fifth Member Kasmir Barnosky. The evening featured food and fellowship and an invitation for new members. The next meeting is at Mr and Mrs Steve Wizniak home on December 16 at 8 p.m.
Mrs C McKenzie of Deepdale received a large Deli cious apple from Kelowna British Columbia. It measured 3 34 inches in diameter and 4 34 inches in height and weighed about one pound with a very small core. Ordinary Delicious apples of the large Fancy grade average 312 inches by 3 inches and weigh 12 pounds 70
The Roblin Women's Institute, a non partisan community group, adopts a motto focused on service and civic involvement as it outlines aims and activities for members. The document highlights volunteer work, educational sessions, and local community support initiatives.
Local W I groups affiliated with national and world bodies note a year of activity including hospital aid Red Cross film council and Memorial Hall work. Delegates to ACWW meeting in Ceylon and a UN representative reflect global voice. Presentations of silver cups for grades eight to ten and blood donor clinic support mark the program. Fundraising is kept to a minimum with varied programs and lectures. Roblin W I meets third Thursday in United Church basement. visitors welcome.
