RCMP Holiday Checkstop drives sober driving push
Manitoba RCMP warns against impaired driving during the holidays. The Holiday Checkstop program runs through January 1, 2015 with extra patrols and checkstops funded by Manitoba Public Insurance. In 2013 inspectors logged over 10 000 vehicles at 357 checkstops and 110 impaired driving charges. Authorities urge driving sober, buckling up, and calling 911 if impairment is suspected.
