Attorney General announces Operation ALERT will use battery powered reading devices by December 8 with RCMP and local forces. Readings include pass warn and fail, guiding police on breathalyzer tests and potential 24 hour licence suspensions is being considered for warnings. Refusal to test remains illegal and will be prosecuted.
Obituaries record Thom as Wellings Charbonneau aged 51 of Roblin who farmed in Sunny slope district. He served on the Sunnyslope School Board was an elder and Sunday School superintendent. Survived by wife Margaret, son Edward, daughter Sheila, sister Mrs. Mabel Jory and six grandchildren. Funeral Saturday at Roblin Evangelical Mission. Interment Roblin Cemetery. Pallbearers listed. Roblin Memorial Chapel handled arrangements. Also obituary for Vernon Harold Lester Taylor born September 8, 1908 near Deepdale Man moved to Bjorkdale Sask later British Columbia fruit business served in PPC LI and Canadian Artillery WW II. Retired 1974 moved back to Deepdale district. Rebekah Lodge member and Royal Canadian Legion active. Interment Roblin District Cemetery. Survived by sister Dorothea, nieces and nephews, and friends in BC, Ontario and Manitoba. Predeceased by brothers Percy Walter and Fred. Roblin Memorial Chapel arranged services. Honor guard and pallbearers listed.

In loving memory of James Kines who died December 4 1965. Always remembered by the family.
Bethel Pentecostal Church Sunday School presents a Christmas program on Sunday December 12 at 7 p.m. All are welcome. Also weekly bingo at St Vinds Parish Hall Tuesdays at 8 p.m. cash prizes and growing jackpots. Admission one dollar with three extra cards for fifty cents.
