Negotiations among Saskatchewan Manitoba and Alberta and the federal Justice department aim to transfer enforcement of provincial statutes to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Local store advertises largest and best Christmas gift assortment in town inviting customers to call and view. Various regional updates note poultry, cattle shipments to Winnipeg, visits by business travelers, and a lecture by James Robson of Pelly Sask on United Farmers of Canada Manitoba.
The cold continues as Merridale pupils hold concerts this week while A J Macauleay installs a radio at home delivering excellent service. Roads are impassable for cars with the ranger 8 repurposed to haul wood. Kelly Cockerill and Teddy Saunder had sleighs break through ice on McBride Lake and suffered frozen feet on return.

Concert and dance in UFM Hall on the 9th for the wis and girls club. Mrs Kirkbride of Silverwood back from Winnipeg hospital improved. The Walker School Christmas Tree mix up will be corrected on the 10th. UFMW met at Mrs Dixons on the 29th with 4 in attendance. Mrs McConnel of Togo addressed the Women’s Missionary Society meeting and formed an assoc branch.
In memory of Thomas Rutledge died December 17 1918 inserted by his wife and sons. The verse laments saving a dollar a day for a thousand years to secure a million in happiness and cites modern economists suggesting sharing dollars with friends.
The undersigned invites scaled tenders by Friday December 1 1927 for van routes 1 4 5 7 9 10 11 15 16 17 18 19 with contracts and a $200 bond. Tenders must commit to driving or supplying a suitable van and keeping it in repair. Names of candidates appear per route with multiple bidders and conditions.

Canada Colonization Association reports 609 families settled on 130,928 acres in Miss to October 11, with 2,799 people aided and 100 more families expected by year’s end. Alberta and Saskatchewan show high settlement success.
