Wheat quality survey shows broad mix for Prairie grain

A Canadian Wheat Board survey of Prairie elevator managers indicates a near even split between high grade No 1 and 2 Canada Western Red Spring Wheat and lower grade No 3 or below. About 14 percent falls to No 3 Utility, with durum largely graded 1 or 2 Amber Durum. Data cover roughly 90 percent of delivery points in Western Canada.

Wheat Board survey details deliverable grain stocks and grades

The Wheat Board report sets deliverable stocks for this crop year at 817.6 million bushels including durum, with oats at 115.3 million and barley at 347.2 million. No. 1 grade share expected is 89.6 percent for barley and 96 percent for oats. Regional stocks total 627 million in CN Railway areas, 711 million in CP Rail areas, plus 55 million in Northern Alberta Railway zones.
