Manitoba Crop Insurance to retain rates with minor metric changes
Agriculture Minister Jim Downey announced no major changes to Manitoba Crop Insurance rates for 1979. A metric conversion may slightly raise coverage and premiums due to rounding. The corporation offers a reseeding benefit for insured farmers who reseed within contract seeding dates. Regulations allow earlier reseeding. Overdue premium interest rises to 12 percent and late acreage report fees move to 20 dollars. Aircraft crops can be insured with agent approval. Forage hay and silage corn remain in general coverage.
