Busy Summer for Inglis Area Heritage Committee
The Inglis Area Heritage Committee and the Inglis Grain Elevators National Historic Site had a busy summer with three of five elevators repainted, critical repairs completed, fundraisers held, and a CBC crew filming for The Rick Mercer Report. Chair Judy Bauereiss recalls a panic day on May 26 when the Paterson elevator outdrive was ripped off, with repairs by Steve Morris of Restorex, plus local contractors Jody Cochrane Wilfred Bodnaruk Pleasant Valley Cabinets Kris Jennings and Rope Access Painting crew. An enthusiastic volunteer team led by Stu Brecken of Houston, Texas spent a week at the site helping restore the elevators.
