Lorna Ward teaches in Birch Hills with Mrs. Taylor visiting, plus many residents traveling, visiting, or relocating in Saskatchewan. Postings cover new band talk, dance prizes, farewells, and a Chinese-themed farewell party for Velena Thompson Argent before her return to China via Vancouver.

Grand Narrows School reopened on the 15th with Miss Dearsley as principal. A welcome is offered to Miss Johnson who resides with her brother, Mr Jim Johnson. On August 17 judges Messrs J D Fogg and G Ross spent a busy day judging garden standings in connection with the Boys and Girls Club. The following days and girls were considered to have the best gardens Senior.
In loving memory of our darling daughter and sister Margaret Irene who departed this life August 23 1948. Deep in our hearts there is a picture of a loved one gone to rest. Our lips cannot speak how we loved her and our hearts cannot tell what to say. God only knows how we miss her. Ever remembered by Daddy, Mother, Sisters and Brothers.
