Province taps FSF to cover fire fight costs and BSE crisis
Manitoba plans to use the Fiscal Stabilization Fund to cover emergency costs tied to forest fires and BSE. In the 2003-04 first quarter, net expenditure was 207.9 million, 85 million below forecast, due to timing. Officials note year end projections factor in special warrants and drought pressures on revenue and hydro income.
