MWF backs new 1997 whitetail hunting restrictions
The Manitoba Wildlife Federation applauds the 1997 whitetail deer hunting restrictions after severe winters. Randy Walker, president of the 14,000 member group, says hunters asked for a reduced harvest and the DNR has enacted changes to reflect lower populations. Emergency feeding by MWF affiliates and the Department of Natural Resources mitigated losses.
