New Ventilated Express Car Improves Fruit Shipping
Pacific Railway and Dominion Express test the B C Ventilator in fruit cars. Air enters from roof intakes, circulates to the floor with three air changes per minute, keeping strawberries from Vancouver to Calgary in excellent condition with 8 to 10 degrees lower car temperature than outside air. The system promises to expand BC fruit trade to the prairie region.
