On April 15 Fred B Kozak and his son Billy in the Shell River valley nine miles northeast of Roblin saw a small flock of the nearly extinct Whooping Crane. Fewer than thirty of these birds exist on the North American continent, making the sight notable for any observer.
The Roblin Bridge Club of Winnipeg entertained Roblinites at the Homestead during Easter week. Miss D Heming won first prize for bridge. The last meeting of the term was hosted by Mrs. J M Borowski with prizes for high and low scores for the season.

They also agreed to purchase 5 000 ft plank from Jas Gawley & Son, Togo.
The Roblin Athletic Association urges citizens to attend a meeting at the School Auditorium on Tuesday May 4 at 8 p.m. to discuss the proposed sports and recreation programme for the town. Support for youth and children's recreational plans is emphasized.
The Young Adult Club met at Mrs. H. R. Mitchells home on April 18. With Ronald Robertson absent, Mr. R. Jakeman and Mr. J. Dorfman presented a May musical program. An inspiring address by Ronald Jakeman on Canada's music development followed. An open meeting is planned for May with Mr. Robertson giving a United Church talk on Manitoba Legislature actions. Lunch was served.
The Roblin CCF unit held its second April meeting at Andrew Jackson's on April 21. Highlights include a report from the dance committee on a successful event and a screening of Children of the City about juvenil e delinquency in Scotland. A resolution urged the Canadian government to absorb transportation costs for clothing donations by women’s organizations. For May to August, meetings move to the third Wednesday each month. next gathering is at Ed Jukeman's on May 19 at 8:30.
The annual Film Council gathering will take place in the church basement on Wednesday May 5 at 8 o clock. Members are to discuss upcoming screenings and event plans.
