The Red Triangle of the Y M C A operates across Allied Armies in Britain Australia South Africa India Canada and the United States with support from governments. About seventy five thousand dollars will be needed in 1918 to sustain the effort aiding soldiers at dugouts near front lines where meals and hot drinks are served by Y M C A teams often with Army Chaplains. A story recalls a soldier refusing to leave a destroyed dugout even for ten thousand dollars, as the Y man gathers remnants to continue service.
