Radon Awareness in Canada Faces Slow Action
The Radon Challenge study by Homeowner Protection Centre finds only about eight percent of Canadians can name radon as the leading cause of lung cancer among nonsmokers. Health Canada says radon causes about 10 percent of lung cancers and testing costs under $50, yet few homeowners test. The report urges a national coordinated strategy and increased testing in homes and schools nationwide.
