Shell River Council Minutes April 6 Roblin meeting
The Shell River Municipal Council met in Roblin on April 6 with Reeve Rogers and Councillors Arnott Clarke Nowasad and Diamond present. Minutes from March 2 and a special meeting were adopted and several bylaws read and passed including tax sale certificate assignment to John Beattie and a loan security bylaw to Royal Bank of Canada. Additional bylaw authorized sale of NE quarter 26 28 28 to Peter Malashevsky for 250, a seed grain loan for 2500, and sale of S B quarter 33 28 29 to W Middleton for 350. The secretary notified the Department of Health to continue Mothers Allowance for Mrs Holowaty. Accounts were paid and Amos Maguire's Old Age Pension approved. Council adjourned to May 20.

Elders Maintain Silence On Blankless Church Services
The Makaroff church followed a policy of no blanks in services for two Sundays after Pastor W O Mather left and before Rev Stanley B Woods arrived. Mr Crane gave sermons on Sunday School lessons and N J Kerswell led services with Miss M S Dempsey on organ. Hymns were popular and the congregation invited to select any hymn.

Seeding began on Saturday with good moisture reported. Mr. Jack Randall of Shoal Lake visits L. C. Wells. Illness reported for Mr. H. Watson after a heart attack last Sunday. Miss Margaret Stokke returns from Dauphin hospital greatly improved after treatment. Schoolchildren get plenty of outdoor activity thanks to equipment bought from play proceeds.

Mrs C Robertson and Mrs D Johnston attended the Makeroff W Last week. District women are busy making soap this week. Mr and Mrs Stewart Fraser and families hosted dinner for Mr and Mrs Jas Adam a Sunday last. The Cromarty W I held their April meeting at Mrs Adam Johnstone’s home. Bad roads reduced attendance.
