One of Canada's largest paper firms announced a six dollar per ton increase in newsprint Friday of last week. The base price in Montreal and Toronto is eighty six dollars, with freight charges aboard contracts. If widespread, the higher price would be the top since 1920, when the average was one hundred twelve dollars.
Parents must register children starting school after summer holidays by April 30 1947. Children must be six years old by December 1 1947 to start school. Trustees urge early arrangements to accommodate all entrants.
