Derkach outlines Manitoba Infrastructure Works projects
Roblin-Russell MLA Len Derkach announces 123 first round projects under the Infrastructure Works program. Up to 205 million will fund bridges in Birtle and Shell River, hydro lines to Miniota Golf Club, 10 camp sites, sidewalk upgrades in Min iota, road rebuilds in Shell River, a lagoon site and sewer improvements in St. Lazare, and street work in McAuley. The program aims to create jobs and boost economic development across Manitoba.

Fifth session opens Thursday Manitoba vows jobs growth and accountability
Manitoba Premier Gary Filmon opened the fifth session of the 35th legislature on April 7 with a throne speech stressing jobs and economic growth, small business, infrastructure renewal, skills training and expanded trade links. The government promises welfare to work, public input, Medicare preservation, community health reform, and youth offender measures including wilderness and boot camps.

Town Shuts Out In First Round Roblin Project Failures
Roblin town missed approval in the first round for two projects including a water main replacement and east subdivision development totaling 1.4 million dollars. The RM of Boulton gained 42 thousand for a road improvement and a joint plan with RM of Shellmouth to relocate a waste disposal site was approved at 50 thousand. Nabe hopes for support in next funding round for a new community centre.
