Signs of spring appear with geese and other birds
Neepawa writer Bill Stilwell notes early signs of spring across Manitoba. Canada geese return dates mark the season, with flocks seen overhead and first sightings in the Pembina Valley Hawk Watch program reporting red tailed hawks and eagles. Raptors, songbirds, and waterfowl are expected to arrive in larger numbers as sloughs and lakes thaw. Provincial observations point to a near-normal timing for migration and spring’s advance.
