Sorbo Survives In Secondary Aitken Cops Novelty
The novelty bonspiel ended with two inches of water on the ice after 56 rinks played in hazardous surface. Aitkens beat Dillin in the premier event to win the top prize while Sorbo and Drechel won the secondary final as the Club President’s squad prevailed. The consolation round was drowned out before finals.

Evening Guild Anniversary Celebration at United Church
The Evening Guild held its anniversary meeting in the United Church basement on Tuesday, March 25. Attending were the Ladies Aid, the Women's Missionary Society and the Cromarty Women's Association. After the business, attendees enjoyed games and singing. A further gathering occurred at Mrs. D. Staple's home on Tuesday, April 25.

Literary Thieves Strike Local Stores In Town
The R & B Electric Shop and Bill Barabash's S H C Warehouse were entered in the small hours of Sunday. Little was taken from Barabash’s premises except some matches, with a note saying Thank you for the matches. From B and B store two radios and a steam iron were stolen, no note left. Entry came through a broken back window and a large desk was moved with care. Thieves exited via the back entrance. Petty theft has been flourishing. groceries and items from vans, cars at the rink, have disappeared. Citizens urged to secure property to deter such thefts.

Roblin Midget Team Beats Gilbert Plains 10-2
The Roblin Midget team traveled to Gilbert Plains to aim for the Heming Cup but fell short as the Plainsmen claimed the cup at the local Midget Tournament. Roblin, led by Cst. Nelson, surged early and built a large lead, showing Roblin’s rising hockey strength despite a closer finish than the score suggests.

Ukrainian Catholics honor Ukraine's national poet Shevchenko concert
Ukrainian Catholic parishes of Roblin and St Michael's held two March and April concerts in memory of Taras Shevchenko. A 26 member mixed choir directed by Rev Denischuk performed seven Ukrainian songs while soloists and duets impressed audiences. The program included poems recited by four readers, a children's play, banked by a Redemptorist college orchestra and a closing medley of Ukrainian and Canadian anthems.
