Visitors Inspect Farm Homes Workshop Programs Highlight Charity
Last weekend about 70 Child Welfare Department visitors toured the Farm Homes at Mitla Wong. They observed drill work, copper and brass crafts, tailoring, bootmaking, carpentry, and Scout activities under Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Mitchell. A church service, Mass attendance, and extensive farm inspections followed with picnics and a Sunday display of Scouting skills. Visitors returned to Sydney Sunday evening, leaving praise for the Homes’ life-changing work.

Inter-City Relay Race by Richmond Harriers Club
St Stephen s Church of England Richmond Harriers Club ran a Melbourne to Sydney relay carrying a letter from the Lord Mayor. Moss Vale finished seven hours early, averaging over 10 miles per hour to cover 476 miles to Mona Vale in about 46 hours. Motto: Not the quarry but the chase.
