Elections Bring Labor Victory and Road Grievances in Bowral
The Mail reports Labor wins in state elections and a new government, with critique of the Nationalists turning conservative postwar. It criticizes Bowral Council for poor road policy, debt reliance, and calls for competent planning and loan oversight to fund essential road works and traffic preservation.

Council urged to prove planned spending before approving loan
The speaker argues expenditures should be shown as part of a definite, supervised program to win public support for a loan. Until the money is tied to systematic work and clear oversight, voters are justified in opposing large outlays. The onus is on the Council.

Daffodil show planned by Moss Vale group and Corpus Christi rites at Bowral
The Moss Vale branch of the Ministering Children's League met in the Soldiers Memorial Rooms with strong attendance. Plans were made for the annual daffodil show on September 16 and stalls led by named local ladies. Mittagong sub branch held its annual meeting with a £22 credit and officers elected. A Corpus Christi procession at Bowral proved a large success despite rain, with Benediction in the school hall and a grand turnout. Licensing Court at Moss Vale fined several hotels for licenses and Bowral golf and Mittagong clubs faced fees. A band triumph arose when Vincent wrote the Corpus Christi music for the Bowral event, and Felton Fund efforts raised funds at a Barn Dance.
