At an inquest into 10 year old Eric Gallaher's snake bite death the father questioned Dr H B Cope about orders for rest and sleep instead of walking to stay awake. Dr Cope cited Dr Martin of Australia and the Lister Institute in London, who argued rest aids recovery and that walking exhausts bite patients. A Macquarie Street doctor confirmed the view.
