Obituary: Samuel Nunn of Wheatland dies at 81

Pioneer Samuel Benjamin Nunn aged 81 of Wheatland died Monday morning after a brief illness. Born at Niagara Falls Ontario he came west in 1882 and lived in the Rivers district most of his life. He served as weeds inspector for the Rural Municipality and helped plant trees around the town. Surviving are four daughters Mrs Madden Mrs Madden Mrs Foreman Mrs Dodson and one son Benjamin plus two granddaughters. Funeral was held Tuesday with service by Rev. Patteson and Rev. Nash at Rivers cemetery where his first wife rests.

Angus James McDonald Dies at 85 in Pendennis District

Angus James McDonald of Pendennis died at 85 years 10 months. Born in North Uist Scotland he came to Canada as a youth and spent 58 years in the country, 21 in Pendennis. Survived by his widow and three sons. Interment at Brandon cemetery.

Rally Day Service Invites Community To United Church

The United Church Sunday School invites friends to a Rally Day Service next Sunday at 2 30 pm. Fourth Annual Elocution Contest at T C F Hall

The Elocution Contest of Eixcelsior Lodge L C B A will be held October 8 at 7 45 p m in the T C F Hall. Open to children 10 to 16 from Rivers and surrounding districts. Entry 25 cents with name age and selection due to Mrs L Marsh by September 23. Silver medals awarded for top scores in two age classes 10-13 and 14-16 with a first and second prize.
