Local Residents and Visitors Headed Through Rivers
G W Sleemen left for Mrs Generge Wills of Winnipeg and was a vicar in town for a day or two last week. Mrs G Baggey of Winnipeg spent a couple of days renewing acquaintances. Sgt James Stevenson RCA Fort Osborne Barracks Winnipeg spent the weekend with relatives here. Miss Cora Johnstone former Rivers resident arrived from the east last week and began duties in McKenzies United States. Miss Isabelle Sinclair returned to her school at Two Creeks after visiting her parents. Miss Mary Stewart of Winnipeg and former Rivers resident was a guest of Mr and Mrs C Wagar. Mr and Mrs E A Anderson left for Regina where he will join the meteorological service. They have lived in Rivers over a year.

Red Cross Packs Nine Cartons For European Relief
Red Cross members packed nine large cartons of warm used clothing for European relief last Tuesday. Included were quilts made by members. The meeting occurred at Mrs. Herbert Frank's home with Mr. and Mrs. James Rorke as guests. Visitors in the district the past week included Sgt. Eric and Mrs. Bachelor of Oak Lake, the latter recently returning from four years of service in Europe.
