Daly council met with J Chapman detained sick in the chair. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence included Brandon health district matters, Tax Commission public utilities taxation, and gravel pit takings. Committee to attend Public Utilities Board formed. various requests for relief, school district fumigation costs, hospital bills survey, and gravel tender approved or referred for Good Roads Board consideration.

Anniversary Services Mark Rivers United Church Event
The Rivers United Church anniversary was a success held Sunday with strong morning and evening attendance. Rev. Me Patteson led services and introduced Rev. Hugh Robertson of John Black Memorial Church Winiper who spoke on spiritual renewal and sacrifice. The choir led by Mrs. Patteson performed well and a large Monday chicken supper followed. Rev. Nash sent greetings from St James Church as the event closed with the National Anthem and benediction.

Alle Brave is Widowed at 22 in Bradwardine District
Harriet Alice known as Alle Braye died October 9 at age 22 years 9 months 12 days after a short illness from acute gastritis. She was wife of Rex H Braye, daughter of William and Mrs Rouse of Bradwardine, lived on the farm, and was active at St Matthew's Church Ancrum. Funeral was October 16 with 43 pallbearers.

Royal Arch Masons Hold District Meeting
The annual District No. 2 meeting of Royal Arch Masons gathered at Rivers on Friday evening led by Rt. Ex. Companion W. G. Thomas. A banquet by Queen Esther Chapter of the Eastern Star opened the event before lodge business and several addresses by visiting and local brothers. Closing occurred around 11 pm with the district praised for a most enjoyable fraternal evening.
