Warning to Potato Growers of Manitoba Rotting Potatoes Threaten Yields
The Dominion and Provincial Departments of Agriculture warn Manitoba potato growers that late blight and associated rot threaten thousands of bushels. Brown spots appear on tubers, rot progresses in storage, and mud hides symptoms. Plan two harvests, one in the next three to four weeks and another a month or six weeks later, removing any rotting potatoes to prevent total loss.
