Dynamite Charge Forces District Reuse to Tilt in Alix Alta

In Alix Alta a district reuse was jolted during basement work when an excavation crew detonated a dynamite charge nearby. The blast toppled the reuse unit but no injuries were reported.

Daly church W A elected officers for the coming year at a November meeting held at Miss Jean Rutherford's home with 11 members and two visitors attending. New officers include Mrs J Archibald president Migg Shirley Heritage vice president Mrs Leslie Dyer secretary and Mrs E O Dyer treasurer reelected. Mrs R G Dyer flower fund secretary treasurer reelected. The treasurer has served 38 years.

W E Smiths Celebrate 25 Years of Marriage at Family Gathering

Twenty five years of married life were celebrated Sunday by Mr and Mrs W E Smith of the Oakleigh district at a family gathering at the home of their eldest son Fred. Thirteen family members attended including the parents of the 25 year bride Mr and Mrs John Taylor. The couple received a silver tea service. On Monday evening forty five friends attended a return gathering.

Neighbors Gather for Smiths Celebration Event

Local neighbors gathered at the Smith home to honor celebrants who received silverware presented in a miniature model T. The evening concluded with a lunch service.

Much ado about literacy was the playlet at the WMS regular meeting on November 18 by Mesdames E Q Dyer G Wareham and W Cannon Plans for a Christmas party were made A report on the Kenton conference and on an executive meeting was given by Mrs E Wareham An interesting paper on temperance was read by Mrs George Wareham A worship service was conducted by Mrs Dyer

Kiwanis Dinner and Social Evening Draws Big Crowd

Kiwanis charter night last Thursday drew large attendance from Kiwanis and visitors. Harry H. Ross district lieutenant-governor attended with Mrs. Ross, a Souris delegation, Rivers club members and wives. A banquet, corsages for Mrs. Ross and others, a singsong led by C. G. Stalker, and remarks by guest speaker Mrs. G. R. Rowe highlighted the evening.
