The Rivers Agricultural Society will hold its annual meeting at Rivers School in Rivers on Saturday November 22 at 3 PM. Items on the agenda include consideration of the annual report and the election of officers for the ensuing year. J W Seater is president and J T Bowman is secretary-treasurer.

Rivers Consolidated School Board Meeting Recaps Routine Work

The Rivers Con. School District board chaired by Dunsmoore met Friday evening. A resolution authorized monthly nurse inspections of students by John Stone at up to 35 per month. A winter van route 6 contract was awarded to A. D. Aitken for 160. The secretary was to publish tender calls for driving van routes for 1925, due before the next meeting on December 4.

Manitoba Agricultural College to Offer Short Winter Courses

W C McKillican dean will broadcast on the 21st to Manitoba farmers outlining winter programs at the college. Short courses from 10 days to 3 months will cover Traction Engineering Dairying Poultry Horticulture Marketing Farm Mechanics Sewing Cooking Beekeeping Live Stock and Forage Crops. Interested individuals may contact the Registrar for details.

Rivers Union Church Anniversary Services

Rivers Union Church marks its anniversary with a Sunday service featuring Rev. D D Melivor of Norwood Presbyterian as speaker. A Monday supper in the church basement runs 5:30 to 7:45 p m followed by an entertain ment and lecture titled The Ups and Downs of Life or Irish Wit and Humor. Admission is 75 cents for adults and 35 cents for children.

Ten years ago this week the Gazette noted a bye election for mayor and councillors with J A Grimmett and Johnson contesting the former office. Norman Ferguson, who went overseas with the 1st Canadian Contingent, praised the welcome at Plymouth. W Currie, a Wheatland teacher, had a grand send off for active service.
