H McLeod, a cattle buyer, was arrested by provincial police in Inwood Manitoba for purchasing cattle with worthless cheques. He was acquitted by Magistrate Noble after the court found no fraudulent intent in the alleged transaction. Farmers urged caution.
A public meeting at Town Hall decided to hold a Field Day for Daly Rural municipality and Rivers schools toward the end of June. RN Dunsmore chaired, D McLeod secretary. event roles assigned including field master S Simpson and various sport leads. A committee will meet to finalize the programme with Dr. Fletcher expected to address attendees.
A meeting of the St James Tennis Club will be held in the Town Hall on Saturday at 8 o clock to plan the coming season. All interested are invited. Norman Tivy president J Bartlett secretary treasurer.

The regular meeting of the Women's Institute will be held at the home of Mrs Jas Cheater on Wednesday May 3 at 3 o'clock.
The Dominion government sets aside 10000 dollars for a new Rivers post office. Donald Mackinnon, a town elder, dies in the afternoon. Three hundred people follow the funeral procession to the cemetery. May 19 marks the marriage of Miss Charlotte H Fraser to Arthur Fuller with Miss Ivy Miners as bridesmaid. EB Forman C Westwood and DG Jonason run for town council vacancy.
Notice that Pacific Lodge No 71 O O F and Friendship Rebekah Lodge No 27 hold an anniversary service Sunday June 3 at 3 pm in Union Church. Brethren meet at 2 30 pm at the Hall and depart for the church. Rebekah members gather at the church. Rev S A Martin will address attendees. All brothers and sisters invited.
