Western Manitoba girls softball league formed at YMCA

The first district girls league was established with Rivers Brannon as president and A E Cousins as vice president. Miss Margaret Scott serves as secretary treasurer. Members include Rivers Minnedosa Brandon East End and Brandon Safeways with a plan for a six home six away schedule and each club to have an executive representative.

School Board Votes $900 Salaries for Teachers

Ten years ago the School Board set teacher salaries at 900 dollars per year due to reduced government grants. The Rivers golf fever grows as the club gains enthusiasm after its first year. George Buller, longtime Daly district resident, dies in Brandon. A heavy frost hits Monday night. Knox Sunday School plans a river picnic on June 5. Dance and Orchestra Contest At Rivers

An orchestra contest linked to a dance is held tonight in Rivers with local and out of town groups. The Rivers Board of Trade sponsors the event and proceeds after expenses go to a worthy cause. An energetic committee has organized the affair to draw attendees from distant places.
