Fifth Annual Tour to the Pacific Coast

The Canadian National Railways announces its fifth annual personally conducted tour after school. Departing Winnipeg on July 5 with sleeping cars dining car and radio observation car, the train stops at key points then sails from Prince Rupert July 12 for a 150 mile Aside Passage cruise to Vancouver with all costs covered. Town Council schedules a cemetery cleanup next Wednesday afternoon the 19th at 3 30 PM inviting residents to join the effort. Councillors Johnson and Offen of the Public Works Committee can provide details.

Oddfellows and Rebekahs Parade 107th Anniversary Observed

Pacific and Friendship Rebekah lodges marked the 107th anniversary of the Order with a Divine Service at St James Church. Brethren from Rapid City Brandon and Wheat City attended a parade on Main Street led by T W Offen, P D D G M, and Rev S L Nash urged church support to preserve core values amid world upheaval. Afterward, lodge members met for thanks and refreshments with C e W Angel as Noble Grand of Pacific Lodge and Sister J Borsoff leading Friendship Rebekah Lodge.

Eastern Star Whist Drive closes series

The Queen Hether Chapter Order of Eastern Star held a Wednesday Whist Drive with strong attendance. Mrs. J. Borroff won both the Grand Aggregate for the series and the evening prize. Chas. W. Angel took the men's Grand Aggregate. a tie for the evening prize was decided in favor of W. G. Thomas. Booby prizes went to Mrs. Riddick and B. F. Nunn. Refreshments followed as dancing continued until 2 a.m. with the Society Five Orchestra providing music.
