Ruth Mae Madden, daughter of Mr and Mrs Russell Madden, married Edward G Shuttleworth, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Shuttleworth of Rapid City, at Rivers United church. Rev F W Lee officiated. Bridesmaid Norma Shuttleworth, best man Douglas Madden. The couple honeymoon in Winnipeg and plan to reside in Rapid City. Grandparents Mr and Mrs John Bellamy of Biggar unable to attend due to flood conditions.

Early Law Student A A S McKay Dead
Archie A S McKay, 61, lawyer and postmaster at Sandy Lake, formerly Rivers resident who studied law here, died April 24 at Deer Lodge hospital. Born Teeswater Ore, he came west in 1896, studied law in Rivers in 1913, and served in World War I where he was wounded. Survived by widow, two daughters, four brothers and three sisters. funeral held at Portage la Prairie.

Oil rink waste material bids revealed to council
