Wartime price controls update for Canadian farms

The Wartime Prices and Trade Board sets ceiling prices on farm machinery from September 15 to October 1941 and allows only certain imports adjustments. H. H. Bloom urges farmers to inspect implements and secure spare parts. Exemptions include farming rents and licenses for non resale purchases, hay and straw. Rural motorists should apply for Category A gasoline if under 3000 miles, with ration books available all summer. No car can operate without a rationed permit.

Visitors at the Emslie home included Pte George Emslie of Calgary, his wife and baby, Mrs Dave Emslie and two children of Calgary, and Mrs Bill Emslie of Transcona. Frances Luchuck brought in crocus buds as a March 18 surprise, a sign of early spring thanks to mild weather and shelter.
