The Sports Day meeting at Town Hall discussed arranging to move the baseball diamond and the Agricultural Society pledged assistance to the Baseball Club. Attendance was uneven, and a follow up meeting is set for Thursday June 4 to organize efforts.
Officers and members of Court Daly Canadian Order of Foresters will hold their annual dance in Oddfellows Hall on Friday June 12. Music by Society Five Orchestra starts at 9 pm. Admission one dollar for gentlemen fifty cents for ladies. Lunch served. Committee includes Jas Taylor Steve Mills and Robt White.
St James Amateur Dramatic Society will present the Farce Safety First in Wagar Hall on Friday June 12. The cast features local actors including Jack Montgomery Grant Wilkes and Mabel Montgomery with tickets 50 cents for adults 25 cents for children, stage manager W G Thomas.
Stanley Henry of Oak River won first in the Kiwanis Club crew shoot with 584 eggs and 242 feet for 1319 points. Second and third totals were 42 and 419. The event racked up 7126 eggs and 585 crows were said to be destroyed. Oak River Post notes.
