World Poultry Congress Ottawa to feature varied displays
At the World's Poultry Congress in Ottawa an exhibition of fowl will be joined by rabbits and canaries. The Live Bird Committee announced the additions as added classes at the exhibition. Regina residents toured the new Hotel Saskatchewan in May opened by E. W. Beatty. Canada plans a nationwide industrial display in Montreal in August. Alberta reports 5 000 spring farm placements and 1 008 April to May hires by O Hanson and Company. The CP Rail notes Front Street frontage and a 20 story hotel near Union Station. Don Salvador Castello heads Spain's delegation and Spanish live birds will arrive in Montreal in July sailing on the Montroyal.

At Mrs. Seater’s home a social gathering honored Miss Hilda Gilman who leaves for Oak River School. The Ladies Aid presented a Silver Tea Service and the district lauded her work in church, social life, and sports. Pupils also gave a decorative tray as a goodwill gesture.

Magistrate Clackson visits town over dog license dispute
Ten years ago in the Gazette this week Magistrate Clackson of Rapid City presided in a case over a citizen protesting a five dollar dog license under the town bylaw. Rivers railway station work begins to replace the fire-destroyed structure. Myrtle Dunsmore and Jessie Miners will oversee Rivers School primaries. The Hill family arrived from Battle Creek to settle here. Agricultural Society officers purchased 16 acres at the town's western end for fairgrounds.

Bee Keepers to Meet at Brandon
The Brandon Bee Keepers Association plans a July 19 meeting at the Brand on Experimental Farm at 7 30 pm. All provincial beekeepers are invited to discuss problems after inspecting the apiary, with Mr. Floyd the Provincial Apiarist present to read the discussion, followed by a basket picnic with tea and coffee provided by the farm.
