Curling Match Sets New Year Curling Event

Perfect weather greeted a New Year curling tournament between rinks from the President and Vice President sides. President LePage Offen Steven 990 Lyon Thompson J Taylor led 73 62 over Cousins Parker McKenzie B Taylor Wareham Evans on a day with steady attendance. Pettapiece visitors played two rinks against local rinks skipped by Jim McKenzie and J Taylor. McKenzie won while Taylor lost. Afterward guests were hosted by Mr and Mrs Jim McKenzie.

James H. Johnson, a well known Saskatoon mail clerk, died at 2 15 Sunday afternoon from seven head wounds believed caused by an axe or similar weapon. His death ends hope of aid in solving a ten day mystery as police face a murder case with inquest possible disclosures and intensified efforts to identify the assailant.
