Traditional ad urges early planning for housecleaning and painting services. Notes scarce labor and materials, but offers a full range of papers at minimal price increases, invites samples and estimates, and warns delays may disappoint clients if a painter isn’t secured now.
Five years ago snow lay very deep in town with six to eight feet in some spots. The day’s event centers on the marriages of Mrs. A Franklin and Mrs. Gee Wills. Robert Wilkinson reports he is seriously considering starting a fox hunt, dubbed Foxy Robert.
Health officials report an epidemic with over 30 cases of ton and other sore throat illnesses. Three cases have been diphtheria in origin. Churches schools and public gatherings are prohibited until further notice.
Grain Growers Assn. will hold a meeting in Wheatland the Tuesday after February 26 at 3 oclock to take final action on seed oats. Any person desiring oats should call Mr Tucker at the Bank of Commerce to view samples.
Pacific Lodge and Friendship Lodge announce a Grand Whist Drive and Dance at the Oddfellows hall Flair on Friday March 1. Cards begin at 8 30 sharp with separate first prizes for ladies and gents and a booby prize for cards. Tickets cost 1 00 and are sold by Rebekahs and Gold Fellows. Ladies are asked to bring lunch.
The Friendship Rebekah Lodge No 27 met at Mrs R A Withers home on Friday to bid farewell to Mrs F Lane who leaves for Regina. Members enjoyed games and a lunch after which Mrs Withers gave a short address noting the token gift of a Rebekah pin and wishing her success in her new home hoping she may return to Rivers.
