The fourth session of Manitoba's bird legislature opened with pomp as throne speech items promise education aid, school bonds, pension relief, and women jurors. Debates followed on power, agriculture, health, deer control, and rural issues, with plans for beautification contests and farm-building entries for 1952.
The Manitoba Good Roads Association joins the Canadian Good Roads Association for 1952. Directors in Winnipeg urged the provincial government to hold a July 4 celebration in Emerson marking completion of No 75 from Winnipeg to the USA border. The Manitoba Motor League donated a trophy for annual competition.
A newly released standard owner's auto policy adds modern protections. During renewals, existing policies will be rewritten to include these features where applicable, extending bodily injury and property damage coverage to the owner and spouse for private passenger autos used for pleasure or business calls, including borrowed vehicles and replacements.
