Mr and Mrs H Hawkes Transfer to Lethbridge Alberta

Mr and Mrs H Hawkes depart for Lethbridge Alberta as Mr Hawkes is transferred by the Radio and Meteorological branch of the Department of Transport. Rivers friends send good wishes to the couple at their new home.

Rural Daly council meeting and local notices

Miss Dorothy Wareham leaves Monday to train as a nurse at Brandon Hospital. Miss Margaret Wareham of Carnegie visits relatives Alf and Mrs Wareham. Daly council meets on Tuesday the 17th. Red Cross notes donate clothing and items to headquarters

The shipment includes Air Force scarves and mitts, service socks, various sweaters, pants, bandages, handkerchiefs, quilts, and a crib quilt donated by the RCA F. Knitting Club and other items. Mrs. Dick, an Airport Hostess, will speak next Tuesday about her work.

Wartime Prices Office to Open Bran don Sub-Region

A Wartime Prices and Trade Board sub regional office will open soon in Brandon, announced by George J A Young, Manitoba region prices and supply representative. It will be the first outside van opened under the regional Winnipeg plan, with more to follow in the Fort William Port Arthur district nearby.

Lothair Social Weekend Highlights and Winners

Miss Bernice Harvey and friends visited Por tage la Prairie and Oak leigh guests joined. Rapid City newcomers Mr. and Mrs. S J Rollins greeted the district. A social evening at Lothair featured games, auctions, and a blanket draw won by T Savage with proceeds totaling 25 dollars.
