Hope to Break Up Gang That Stole UNRRA Supplies
Chinese police in Shanghai arrested six men in efforts to smash a well organized gang accused of stealing undetermined millions of U.N.R.R.A. supplies from stockpiles turned over to China. Five CMERDR employees were charged with stealing two truckloads of sheet aluminum and two Chinese merchants were said to have bought one load.

New British Plan Creates Unified Defence Ministry
London Reuters reports the house of commons approved a defence ministry bill to coordinate the three armed services.
