Red Cross Reports Show Year of Good Work
The Rivers Branch annual Red Cross meeting heard encouraging committee reports and a treasury of 1650.47 raised in the year. Women’s Work details included wool, socks, mitts, scarves, and hospital items. 26 blankets were also contributed. Officers for 1941 were elected led by Rev. S. B. Guille as president and Jas. A. McKenzie as treasurer. Tuesday meetings continue in the United Church annex with room for more attendees.

War Service Committee Organizes Recreation for Air School
A Rivers meeting formed the War Service Committee to provide indoor recreation for Air Navigation School personnel. An executive was named with Hon. President Squadron Leader Miller and Vice-President J. D. Ellis, plus Miss Gladys Radley as secretary treasurer. A broad committee of town leaders and club reps was appointed to coordinate activities and build a welcoming indoor facility for members.
