Local Soldier Completes Training Near Shilo Camp

Cpl. John Gilbert Parker of Rivers has finished an assistant instructor’s course at the Alberta Infantry Training Centre in Shilo Camp, part of the 100th Canadian Army Basic Training Centre at Portage la Prairie. Born in MacGregor, Man., he enlisted in Winnipeg last July and is married to Mary Ethel Parker of Rivers.

Rivers Born Men Enlist in Canadian Army at Winnipeg

Rivers born Jack Mott of Winnipeg and Allan R. McKeever of Carroll Man enlisted in the Canadian active army at Winnipeg on November 26. Mott, married to Sophie Mott, home address 511 Elgin Ave. Winnipeg. McKeever, a Dauphin native, was a truck driver. next of kin is his father James McKeever of Rivers.
