Funeral Held for Edgar Madden in Brandon District
Crowds filled United Church for the funeral of Edgar Madden who died Tuesday August 11. Rev. W. W. Harland and Rev. J. K. Beil led service with a duet by J A. McKenzie and Edythe Mitchell. Interment followed at Brandon Cemetery with Brockies of Brandon handling arrangements.

Debt Owed to Rapid City Odd Fellows Wiped Out
In a meeting held in the 100 F lodge room on Thursday evening last the group agreed to voluntarily cancel debts exceeding five thousand dollars. The loan originated when Rapid City Odd Fellows' lodge borrowed from numerous brothers over 25 years ago to fund building the lodge, as mortgage funds were insufficient.

Rivers Town Council Minutes August Meeting
Regular session presided by Councilor Sinclair in Mayor Dunsmore’s absence. Resolutions include adopting previous minutes, waiving taxes for H R Moxley, paying Electric Light and General Accounts, offering Lot 19 Block 19 to Trust & Loan Co of Canada for 250, and accepting Alexandra Hotel taxes at par with deadlines, and final reading for Bylaw 288 changing polling stations. Obituary: Eusebe J Blais Civic Leader of Transcona
Eusebe Joseph Blais, 59, of 117 Victoria Avenue Transcona died August 12 at home and was buried Saturday. A Rivers native who moved to Transcona in 1912 he served as town councilor and school trustee and was foreman of the tin shop for Canadian National Railways. Survived by widow two sons Felix and John four daughters Lillian Helen Margaret Theresa and sister M Sulpice in Rochester NY.
