Ruth Wareham Honored by Friends
Twenty former schoolmates and friends of Ruth Wareham bride elect of August 12 gathered at Mrs. E E Grant’s home. A white plane delivered a cargo in her honor as she returns with her daughter Barbara and Darlene Crowe. The event featured corsages for Mrs Wareham and her mother and noted other local visits and travels including Pete Burtt’s voyage by canoe from Victoria toward New York reaching The Pas.

Weekend Guests and Visitors Reach Rivers Area
A stream of visitors and travelers converged on Rivers and nearby towns. Teun and Gul Stratford and family, T Nolan and Jackie visited New York City, Miss Marion Karlenzig from Winnipeg spent the long week end at home, and Paul Cadi also from Winnipeg called on Mr. and Mrs. C Blandford. S-Set.H. G. Kennedy and Mrs. Kennedy of Chilliwack visited the Luchuks, while Leslie Buggey of Minneapolis renewed old ties. Other travelers included Mr. and Mrs. Hutcheson of Virden, James Messel attending a Winnipeg board meeting, Betty Luchuk from Winnipeg convalescing after surgery, Frank Walker of Vancouver holidaying with his parents, John MacAllister from Denver rejoining his wife, and Sgt Major D. Morrow visiting relatives in Rivers.
